May news from Africa

Dear friends, thank you for reading these updates.  We know you all have exciting things the Lord is doing in your lives, and we would love to hear those things.  Thank you for taking the time to read some of what the Lord is doing as we follow him.  It’s such a joy to obey the Lord.  Be expecting another update very soon with testimonies from our community in South Africa as we have finished our 1 year anniversary.  Below is a quick update of our South Africa community, some of what is going on around the world, and a bit about our Family.

This last week I (Jeff) have had the privilege of joining a man named Floyd Mclung (http://www.floydandsally.com) on a trip in South Africa.  I have learned much about discipleship and leadership.  I’m challenged again by the great commandment and the great commission.  “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and Strength” and “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations”!  Matt. 22:37, Matt. 28:19

Here in Africa we believe God is going to bring Revival and Transformation.  We pray for it, believe it, and live according to the reality that God is able and willing to transform this Nation.  The Lord is showing us that this happens when we make disciples.  Others that look like Jesus who teach others to look like Jesus.  In South Africa there are a number of different ways the Lord has led us to do this.  We have two job creation/discipleship initiatives, a new house church starting, a discipleship house for muslims, the Jesus house, plus one on one relationships.  Transformation is not when everyone wants to come to a service, but when they begin to look like Jesus.  Let’s pursue Loving God, Loving others, and making disciples even more.

We have had four teams with us recently.  Some living in our Jesus house, and all sharing Jesus with people in Masiphumelele, discipling others, and working to see transformation here.  People have come to the Lord, the local park (destroyed and emptied of dirt) has been restored and set up as a safe place for children, and much more.  A new set of teams arrives in the coming weeks, as well as some who will join us longer term.

A couple of weeks ago our car was in an accident outside of a township near our home.  All of the costs will be covered for the accident.  No one was hurt.  The amazing thing is that while we were sorting out the details with the police at the scene, some of our team led two people to the Lord who were in the Crowd.  Awesome.

The transformation schools we have had the privilege of being a part of are expanding.  The first one ran in January and by the end of the year and I will speak in the 3′rd in October.  Amazing.  Comm Trans DTS graduated last month.  Comm Trans Alumni around the world are reporting fruit in their communities as they follow the Lord.  Please sign up for our blog updates for more on this.

Our family just returned from a family reunion in England.  It was such a rich time to see the inheritance we are a part of. We are back in South Africa now.  We arrived back home to a team of 7 living with us.  It’s an exciting life.  We wanted to update you that the Lord has brought in all of the finances to send Elijah, our oldest, to school.  Thank you for praying with us.  Carter and Riah are also doing amazing.
Look for our 1 year anniversary update soon!

Thank you again friends.  We couldn’t do this without you! We mean that.  Write us back, as we love to hear from you.
